My Porcelain Throne

The Toilet. Lavatory, loo, bathroom, bog. Water Closet, The Gents, Ladies, Little boys or girls room. Whatever you call it, the toilet is universally known for getting the crap out of your body. Sometimes this can mean pleasure or pain. It can be relieving or stressful. It can come out all at once, or not at all. But at the end of the day it can just be a seat to get away from it all and have a few minutes to yourself. I believe that thoughts, while on the bog, follow a similar principal. Sometimes there are a lot, sometimes...nothing. From the beginning of May I am going to be embarking on a 6 week trip around the world. I wanted to start a blog, but not just that of a traveller. Mine had to be unique. So I came up with the idea that in the different facilities that I'll be using in the restaurants and hostels of Australasia and South East Asia, I would jot down my thoughts and experiences about the World I am exploring, on nothing more than the toilet paper I am provided with. Then, when I am back at base, I'll elaborate and type up these pearls of wisdom, so my friends and family can follow my thought track while away. As well as wasteful toxins that my body doesn't need, I hope to let my thoughts and stories flow from my mind at the same time. After all, the average human spends over 1,000 days on the loo. That's three years just sitting there. Thinking.
